Reflecting on His Power in the Silicon Valley

Reflecting on His Power in the Silicon Valley

Three different high school Christian Clubs with one goal: to reach out to the students at their schools and show them the love of Christ.

On the Outreach Immersion trip in San Jose last week, we were given the incredible privilege of being able to come alongside 3 amazing Christian clubs to help them get the gospel out across their campuses. Altogether the schools held 5 rallies, and over 200 students got to hear the gospel through those! There were at least 10+ hours of witnessing conversations happening before school and after school. Between all of those, dozens of conversations happened and hundreds of students were able to hear the gospel. What a remarkable thing to get to be involved in!

While we were in San Jose, we got to have an Evening of Vision to talk with key community members about what is to come in the future with the Bay area and CSP. We met with pastors throughout the week to discuss the spiritual needs of the city and pray with them for God to open doors and for us to have the courage to walk through them. There is much that is still to be done here, and we are choosing to walk by faith as we bring the good news of Jesus to the broken area of the Silicon Valley. We are overjoyed to have gotten to experience the Lord revealing himself in powerful ways as He continues to build his kingdom in a place infested with sin and brokenness.

One of our students couldn’t have summed up the week any better. When asked about how she felt about the week, club co-president Asha replied, “I am so glad we decided to do this! It has been a lot of work, but it was so worth it. God is using US to bring His love to people that feel lonely and so lost. It’s awesome to get to be a part of that. I can’t wait for the next Outreach Week!”

We are so grateful for all of your prayerful support throughout last week. We will continue praying for and dreaming of big things for the bay area as we continue to follow the Lord’s lead in this valley. Here are some ways for you to continue to pray with us:

  • Pray that the clubs will continue to use the momentum that was just created last week to pour into the lives of new club members and to disciple them

  • Pray that continued follow-up over the next couple weeks will be successful

  • Pray for God’s direction in this area as we explore the possibility of permanent expansion here and for a new chapter to open up

For the Cause of Christ,

Laura Bell // San Jose Student Leader
