I am…
Yesterday, the team had the pleasure of going to the first rally at Shorecrest High School. The theme for the week is “I am…” and at the beginning of the rally, the Bible club members welcomed 53 students and handed them cards so that they could evaluate who they were. Club president Sydney asked the students to fill in the blank and challenged them to see how their identity could change over the course of the week.
When the students were seated with free pizza in hand, Sydney shared her testimony with the students. She shared about how she’s the only Christian in her family, but she still believes Christ’s message to be true. She explained that through her journey, she had an identity crisis, but she explained, “If I were to fill in the blank now, I would say, ‘I am a child of God.’”
After school, the team joined 6 club members from Shorecrest’s Bible club in going out to personally share their faith with their
friends. One student, when approached, asked why the team approached him out of all of the people in the school. Team member replied, “Because you were here.” His response to her was: “It just makes me feel kind of special.” After sharing Christ’s message with 17 students, team member Jon and club member Jordan got to experience the blessing of seeing 4 people make decisions for Christ! Praise God!
After being encouraged with all of these things, the team also got to experience physical healing. Cassie’s sister, Beth, joined us during the day and began to experience a migraine, part of the consistent pain she explained that she has been experiencing for five years. However, when the team prayed for healing for her, she reported that she no longer felt any pain!!
Today, aside from Shorecrest’s lunch rally, which will include a pastor presenting the message of Christ, and witnessing, the team will be speaking in every single Bible class at one of the local Christian schools. We hope to ignite an urgency and a passion for Christ’s message in the youth of this city.
Prayer Requests for Today:
- Please pray for the rallies and witnessing at Shorecrest High School.
- Pray for the team as we teach Bible classes today and above all, that we would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
- Pray that the Christian students in Seattle: that they would experience boldness and renewal in Christ.
- Please pray for continued healing in Beth’s head.
