The team of ten has arrived in Seattle and all are beyond excited to help Shorecrest High School do outreach on their campus!

Yesterday, the team went to two separate churches to make announcements at the youth groups and encourage them to support the students who are stepping out in faith this week and sharing their faith. The team passed out 200 prayer cards to church members who each committed to pray for five students by name during the week of the rally so that every student at Shorecrest would be prayed for.

The students took part in identifying the different kinds of people they may encounter when going witnessing.

After the church services, the team met with 10 students from Shorecrest as well as two students from other schools (who expressed interest in sharing their faith to their peers) for a kick-off event. When we asked the students what they were looking forward to during the week of outreach, club member Jordan said, “I want to see the name of God revered in the halls of Shorecrest.” The students each showed their immense faith in Christ as they listed their hopes and prayers and as we prayed together yesterday.

During the kick-off event, the team took turns teaching the students how to share their faith, beginning with an outline of the good news of salvation, continuing with reasons to share their faith, and finishing with things not to forget during the rally week. We then spent a time in prayer, praising God and asking for his provision during the week.

After the witnessing training, the students made posters to hang in their halls advertising for their rally events. They expressed their excitement in welcoming Christian rappers to perform at their school and offering free food on three of the days that they have rallies.

Then, this morning, the team was blessed to be able to join the Shorecrest students in prayer at their school before the first bell rang. Though there were people pushing past us in the halls, the students stood firm in their faith and continued their prayer, increasing in volume and vigor as the crowds grew around them.

The students worked together to make posters to advertise their rallies.

This week promises to show God’s great mercy and power at Shorecrest High School! They have planned rallies every single day of this week followed by witnessing after school each day and prayer before school each morning. They will be offering free pizza to students who attend their rallies on Monday and Wednesday and giving away baked goods on Friday.

In addition to the work that God is doing at Shorecrest, we as a team hope to experience God’s power in the private schools in Washington as well. We will be teaching a full period of all of the Bible classes at Cedar Park Christian School on Tuesday and leading a full chapel service at Seattle Lutheran High School to encourage the Christian students to step out in faith and obey the command given by Jesus to proclaim news of his grace.

Please pray for us this week!!! We cannot do anything here without the power of God, and we need you to join with us in prayer. If you want more immediate prayer requests and updates, please subscribe to our twitter account: @CSPseattle

Prayer Requests for Today:

  • Please pray for the weather in Seattle. It is notoriously rainy here and Shorecrest’s rallies will be outdoors.
  • Pray for the speaker at today’s rally, that he would speak words from God and be able to touch the lives of those listening.
  • Pray for the unsaved students at Shorecrest, that their eyes and ears would be opened to Christ’s love and salvation.
  • Please pray for unity among the Christians–that more would step out in faith and come to support Shorecrest’s outreach.
  • Please pray that those who will join us witnessing today would be granted boldness and would proclaim the news of Christ effectively.
