The January Project Prepares to Share Jesus

“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of?”  Romans 10:13-14a

Dear prayer partner,

The January Project has begun–a full week of CSP ministry focus and outreach, praise the Lord!  Students made posters and shared plans for an exciting week of rallies at La Habra and California High Schools.  Students will promote their rallies on Tuesday.  The rallies launch on Wednesday!

The Campus Light club at California High is amazingly self-motivated and unified. Please pray that their enthusiasm for spiritual things would continue when as they share Jesus with their peers every day for the rest of the week.  La Habra high is doing great!  Pray for boldness.  Students from both schools are sharing Jesus with their campus tomorrow in personal witnessing. It’s our prayer that God would open the hearts of students, to do this spiritual work by His Spirit.

Thank the Lord with us that schools are ready for a week outreach!  We pray it would be life changing.

CSP Campus Mentor Prayers

“Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.”   ~Psalm 127:1-2

This week has been full of blessings and answered prayers as mentors are meeting with students and planning events, dreaming big together. As plans begin for many schools, we need God’s direction and strength through prayer for the mentors. The end of the semester is coming and times are getting hectic, but the Lord is faithful and will provide all the hands to build, all the materials needed including time and energy. Please pray for the strengthening of our mentors, the guiding of club leaders and power against the enemy as he tries to intervene.

God has a big plan for the schools in our area; please pray for the mentors, that we stay faithful and strong in this realization. Pray for us, that our hands may be strengthened, our hearts lifted up and our minds guided by Christ, the solid foundation, our King.

~Aubrey Zenteno

If you live in the La Mirada area, feel free to join us for CSP’s Thanksgiving Prayer Night this Sunday 9/22 at 9PM in Biola’s business  building, room 109.  Email csp.prayer@biola.edu for more info.

Matthew13:31-32~“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.”

Western is a Witness!

This past Friday, CSP Members joined Western’s Christian club in sharing the gospel. CSP and Western scattered across campus after school, eagerly striking up conversations with students about God.

31 Students heard the gospel message!

Dan, CSP mentor, says that he could feel that God was working within the students. CSP and Western were also able to pass out Christian materials to students, such as The Case For Christ DVD.

Praise: 31 Students heard the gospel message*

Carson Recieves a Blessing*

This past weekend CSP mentors met with Carson’s Christian club leaders at Denny’s to plan out events that will impact their campuses with the gospel. As they were enjoying a meal together, conversing over the students’ ideas, a lady approached their table. She shared that God had put it on her heart to bless their group by paying for the tab. CSP leaders and Carson club members were surprised at the generosity of this woman. There were about ten people at the Denny’s meeting, and the lady offered to pay for every meal!

After reflecting on Saturday’s meeting, Taylor, a CSP Mentor, added that she is passionate and eager to get things rolling with Carson students this year!

Praise: God’s blessing at Denny’s and a great meeting with Carson students!

Western: Everything is falling into place!

This past week Dan and Melissa, CSP Mentors, sat down at Starbucks with Western’s Christian Club leaders and started to dream together. Dan and Melissa divided a piece of paper into seven sections for the months of November through May while students brainstormed. By the end of the meeting Western students had planned out 4 different events, 1 of which is scheduled before Christmas break! Next Semester students are looking to host a rally focused on God’s  love around Valentine’s Day, distribute Christian materials on their campus around Easter,  and outreach to the seniors at their highschool in May!

Even more recently, Western’s Christian club decided to share the gospel with their student body face to face! Club members and CSP members met after school this Friday and scattered across campus, striking up conversations with students about God!

Prayer Requests: “That everything goes smoothly”- Dan, CSP Mentor

Praise: After a while of trying to kick things off, Western is now meeting with CSP mentors regularly. As Dan puts it, “everything is falling into place.”

CSP Prayer for strength in the Spirit

Philippians 1: 4-6 ~ I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Welcome to the California School Project (CSP) Prayer Request blog!  We’re here to create powerful prayer communities, as we develop leaders to impact high schools for Christ.  The blog shows all the personal posts of CSP campus mentors.  To get personal requests for specific schools, manage your subscriptions with the subscription link in the email or blog.  Please enjoy and explore!

Praise the Lord for a successful Christian club rally yesterday at La Habra High, where 85 attended a classroom rally, with half of them new to the club!  May the Lord continue to strengthen His people in the club.

Here’s this week’s prayer requests.

It has been hard for some students to coordinate meeting with their schools, so please pray that schedules would work out and God’s work would move forward with good planning!

Please pray that God would be our defense against any spiritual attacks that we have.  Lord, strengthen Your servants–especially the campus mentors at each school–in Your Spirit, giving us the power and courage to continue in Your ministry.

Developing leaders to make real spiritual impact is all God’s work.  In faith, we hope and see that God is faithful in his work today, even as he is faithful to complete us in the fullness of Christ.  Pray that the Spirit would strengthen our hearts, and soften the hearts of the high school students that they may receive the gospel.

May the Lord be with you and bless you in uplifting His people and His work.

In Christ,    ~Prayer Initiatives (Daniel Kerr and Aubrey).

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand…And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.                Ephesians 6: 13 and 18

Dear prayer partner,

I) Greetings!

Welcome to the California School Project prayer blog!

I’m excited to introduce this new way of connecting with campus mentors, students, teachers, and pastors.  This is a great step towards forming passionate prayer communities around schools.

Here’s what you can do: Read all the posts online at http://blog.californiaschoolproject.com/blog/prayer-requests/.  Comment on a post by (1) clicking the “” link after the final scripture verse in this email and (2) clicking the right-hand button “Write comment.”  I hope you take advantage of and enjoy interacting in our prayer community!

II) Prayer and Praise!

  • Praise the Lord with me for a good day of sharing Jesus at Fullerton High yesterday, when three students joined us to talk with their peers about Christ.
  • Please pray for the Spirit’s continued conviction and work in four students at Fullerton High who prayed for spiritual renewal.
  • Keep praying that mentors’ first meetings with students set them (mentors and students) for a year of dynamic ministry.

III) Adopt a high school!

Mission: So this year you have bravely decided to adopt a California high school in prayer, entering  into spiritual war against deadly foe.  Clearly, the nature of the task requires far more than possible for any natural human.  Furthermore, you are already encompassed by the battle.  So, all training needs to be done by the Master as we go.  But practically speaking, there are a couple steps we need to complete before we get started:

Step 1: your mission field–>Choose one or more high school(s) to uplift in prayer:   Read more
