Bellflower High, Thursday (part 1)

Hello all! Thursday, April 1st, Club Eternal from Bellflower High put on a great rally during their second lunch period. Club members kicked off the rally with a few Bible trivia questions, and handed out Capri Suns for prizes. After introducing themselves as a club, CSP mentor, James, shared his powerful testimony to the busy lunch crowd. After the testimony, club members performed the “Everything” skit (song by Lifehouse). Photos from the skit shall be on the next post! The performance really quieted down the audience, and many students were attentive and interested in watching what was going on. The rally went really well, and it was a great way to end the Share the Passion week!

El Rancho Kicks It Off With Some Tunes

This week, students at El Rancho High School, are sharing who  Jesus is with their campus. Josh – Senior, Rally Coordinator – has been praying for a revival at El Rancho during this week. Last year El Rancho started small with a one day rally but this year they are ready to give their students all they got. Their theme for the week is “Truth is…”

8:00 AM every morning,  the club is gathering at the pole to pray that Jesus moves through the words they speak and the materials they hand out.

Lunchtime every day in the quad, they are hosting outreach rallies full of music, materials, and speakers.

Monday – The Band Jesus Worshiper played a few songs and shared their testimonies while the club members are out in the crowd passing out materials and speaking to their peers. The first day went to so well that the club actual ran dry almost on materials for today (Tuesday).

Tuesday – Alex Mata spoke on “The Truth is…” While the club members were out in the crowd answering questions the students had. There was a large turn out and the club passed out all the tracts they had totaling to over 200. Thankfully tomorrow they will be receiving a resupply before the rally begins.

Wednesday – Victory Outreach is planning to do a skit to music. The club members will be going around witnessing in different areas of campus while the skit takes place.

Thursday – They plan to wind down the week on a more personal note and share with the students how they have struggled and how Christ pulled them out of that to be who they are today.Madelin – Witnessing Director, Tina – MC, Josh – Rally Director will all be speaking.

After School Thursday, the club members- joined by some Biola students- are going out to the front of the school for some witnessing before all the students go home for spring break.

The seeds are beginning to be planted, let us pray that a glorious crop will grow at El Rancho this year.

Thanking God and praying for His continued work–Thank you!

I will sing of the steadfast love of the LORD, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 89:1

Dear prayer partner,

We are thanking God for a good week of ministry and fellowship, with each other and the students.

At Cal High’s rally, a Biola student named Fwas shared a deep message with 50+ students.  God had had truly filled the gap in his life, even after abuse, suicide attempts, thievery, and drugs.  Campus light students took initiative by giving their peers 40 tracks, 40 Gospel of John books, and some “The Case for Christ” DVDs.

Fifteen students from four schools were encouraged about the impact they could make on their campus when they met with some mentors at Troy high school.  Sharing Jesus in personal evangelism went well at Fullerton and California High.  Though some students were indifferent to hearing about Jesus, others appreciated taking spirituality seriously.

Really, the work at the schools we have worked with has just begun, and the main work we have done is to open up horizons for a life of outreach for the students. We are praying for God’s continued work at La Habra, California, Western, Fullerton, and Troy High Schools and their student leaders.

For more updates about what happened this week and in CSP, you can subscribe to the story of the week at www.californiaschoolproject.com. Or see specific school updates at www.blog.californiaschoolproject.com.

Thank you for partnering with us in your prayers.  We understand that spiritual victories are accomplished by spiritual means, and prayer is an essential part of developing leaders to make an impact for Christ.

Psalm 89:5 Let the heavens praise your wonders, O LORD, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones!

El Rancho: Uplift students sharing Jesus on Tuesday!

El Rancho is revitalized from prayer outreach on Friday.    Since the advisor was not at the school that day, so it took campus mentors Charis and JC 15 minutes to get permission to go on campus.  After that everything went smoothly.  Overall, the students thought the prayer gather was really fun and encouraging.

Furthermore, the club president wants to see the club really get things done this year!  El Rancho has a witnessing day scheduled for Tuesday!  A supportive local pastor is also very excited to meet the club and wants to get involved in any way that the Club finds is helpful.  Praise the Lord!

Thank the Lord that the Student prayer event was good!

+ Please pray that the Spirit would open hearts and give students the words for the witnessing day on Tuesday.

+ Please pray that the Club leadership meeting goes well on Wednesday.

Western: Everything is falling into place!

This past week Dan and Melissa, CSP Mentors, sat down at Starbucks with Western’s Christian Club leaders and started to dream together. Dan and Melissa divided a piece of paper into seven sections for the months of November through May while students brainstormed. By the end of the meeting Western students had planned out 4 different events, 1 of which is scheduled before Christmas break! Next Semester students are looking to host a rally focused on God’s  love around Valentine’s Day, distribute Christian materials on their campus around Easter,  and outreach to the seniors at their highschool in May!

Even more recently, Western’s Christian club decided to share the gospel with their student body face to face! Club members and CSP members met after school this Friday and scattered across campus, striking up conversations with students about God!

Prayer Requests: “That everything goes smoothly”- Dan, CSP Mentor

Praise: After a while of trying to kick things off, Western is now meeting with CSP mentors regularly. As Dan puts it, “everything is falling into place.”
